Private Whale Trips

The Condor Express is pleased to offer the same prestigious whale and dolphin watching services, or a customized version thereof, to meet your personalized needs. We have arranged private whale watch trips for corporate employee events, civic groups, academic institutions, family reunions, clubs and other groups that want a natural, outdoor and educational experience on the Santa Barbara Channel. This is a great venue for a daytime celebration!

Our customized, private trips can follow the migrating Gray Whales up and down the Santa Barbara coast. During the northbound Gray Whale migration season from mid February to mid April, enjoy seeing our magnificent coastline up close, complete with possible coastal bottlenose dolphins, sea lions, harbor seals, sea otters and, of course, the migrating Gray's. Coastal Gray Whale trips can be arranged to fit a few hours or longer, as your schedule demands.

From April through the summer, we offer great looks at the wild and crazy Humpback Whales that come to the Santa Barbara Channel each year to feed and play. This species is know for its unpredictable behaviors such as spy-hopping, pectoral fin slapping, tail lobbing or even jumping completely out of the water in a might breach. It is not impossible to have a "friendly" encounter with Humpback Whales that come very close to the Condor Express to look up at you. Remember, the Condor Express was built to be in close quarters with friendly mammals, and has no propellers or rudders to protect them from injury. Humpback trips are typically a half day or longer.

During the summer, as early as May and as late as September, the largest animal that every lived on the Earth comes to the Channel Islands and Santa Barbara Channel to feed. These are the mighty Blue Whales that can be as long as 90 feet or more, and are always breath taking to encounter. Our local waters also feature a number of other cetaceans, pinnipeds, fishes and pelagic birds that offer a glimpse into the full extent of the rich ecosystem that makes a fantastic private nature watching party trip.
